When I called Performance Automotive of San Diego this morning to see if I could have my car towed in, they answered the call, and offered to come in early to meet me and the tow truck there. I thought my alternator had gone out and after a quick diagnostic check confirmed this to be true. His wife ran the registration process, and she was just as nice as he was. I recieved a very reasonable quote and was set to wait for my alternator to be replaced. When my car was lifted, another repair man noticed my brakes were really bad and needed to be replaced as well. They quickly replaced my old quote with a new one that was still very reasonably priced. Thank goodness they offered FlexPay Plus, so I am able to make interest free payments on my bill. While my car was being worked on I was able to sit nearby in the garage. I was able to ask questions while they were repairing and they even let me see and touch the old brakes compared to the new ones. I like to ask a lot of questions and it was great to be right there while they worked on my car and ask about the repairs. This is the best auto repair shop I have been to in over 15 years. I am going to continue going there for all my automotive needs and I will recommend them to everyone I know. Thanks everyone for making this experience a great one! - Dorisa M.
I can't speak highly enough about the crew at Performance Automotive. I drive some older cars and finding an honest, competent mechanic is almost impossible. Their reasonable rate oil change sign caught my eye and since it's literally a mile from my office, I gave it a shot. Unbelievable. Not only did I get a great oil change at an amazing price, but they have done a number of repair services for me. Price is great and the work is high quality. Here's a great story. My van's wipers stopped working. I figured it was the motor. He ordered a motor and I took it in for repair. Turns out, it wasn't the motor, but rather a corroded wire. He repaired the wire and didn't charge me for the repair.
I've done brakes, engine light, engine sensor, valve covers and more here. I've recommended them to my co-workers and will definitely continue using them. You should too. - Mark T.
Ken Hooper of Blue Mound, Illinois, recently purchased a project vehicle. It's a stretched Jeep body on a 1980 K20 4x4 chassis. Ken said, "this vehicle has been driven on the road for many years, but it's also been a very dependable mud truck and still runs and drives great." Currently, the vehicle is undergoing an overhaul, the engine and transmission are still in great working order and will not be replaced. JASPER's technical support helped determine that the vehicle's transmission is a Turbo 400, remanufactured by Jasper Engines & Transmissions back in 1989. Ken said, "this transmission has lasted for many years longer than the original. Thank you, JASPER."

The Air and Fuel Department of Jasper Engines & Transmissions has moved to a new location within the Wernsing Road remanufacturing facility.
Sales of air and fuel components has steadily increased, and JASPER believes it could be one of the company’s top departments in the next five to ten years. In preparation for this overall Diesel Division growth, JASPER recently completed a 12,000 square foot expansion project at the Wernsing Road facility.
